Short description:

In Exile is 220-pages long novel that takes place in Portugal, Spain and Holland. Story start when main character, Serbian women-writer, come at Herdade de Malmeleira, artist retreat in Portugal and faced with different, mainly Dutch and international intellectuals and artists who try to find refuge in a peaceful and authentic way of living, far from big cities and, surrounded by art and nature.

“In Exile” is a fictional narratives about soul of Portugal and Catalonia, about tradition and contemporary life in Holland, about Lisbon, Wim Wenders and “Lisbon story”, fado music…, Barcelona, MACBA, Pablo Picasso, Antoni Gaudí, Sagrada Familia, Casa Mia, Luis Buñuel, surrealism, “Un chien andalou”, Gala and Salvador Dalí, Museum-Theatre in Figeras, Joan Miró, Antoni Tàpies, Woody Allen’ s movie “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”, Walter Benjamin and Portbou…, story about Amsterdam, Vincent Van Gogh, Andy Warhol exhibition at Stedelijk Museum, Rembrandt and Ana Frank house, Vermeer paintings at Rijksmuseum, Marina Abramovic performance…
