"Private Room" - short stories, poetry, installations
Authors: Ljiljana Maletin-Vojvodić, Dragan Nikolic, Jelena Savičević-Ivancevic, Alja Adam and Aida Bagić.
The cultural and artistic program FemFest, will be found, along with movies and documentaries, even a series of theater and performance art, and music and art events. Particularly intriguing is however the way the organizers have decided to present literary works, which are also an essential part of the art program. All these poems and short stories collected in the installation of “Private Room”, which are exhibited in the bathrooms of the Student Center. The idea is to show that while it is “an intimate space in which you are invited to read the story in their own way.

The importance of the symposium and FEMFEST lies in the very fact that it is the first festival of its type in Croatia and that the tradition of feminist festivals and discussion and debate on feminism in the country starts here. For the very same reason, the organizers decided to mark this first edition with a plurality of ideas, topics, views, generations, engagements and specialization within the context of feminist theory and practice.
The festival offered a variety of cultural and artistic events. FemFest is primarily interested in works that deal with problems of equality, stereotyping, the body, sexuality, identity, spirituality, violence,… in different languages, genres and media (music, film, visual and performing arts, multimedia, literature, dance).
